How Did the Autism Rumors Start?

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, has been the subject of various speculations regarding his health, particularly concerning autism.

This stems from a 2016 YouTube video titled “Is Barron Trump Autistic? #StopTheBullying” that went viral with a little help from Rosie O’Donnell.

O’Donnell shared the video on Twitter with the caption, “Barron Trump Autistic? If so — what an amazing opportunity to bring attention to the AUTISM epidemic.”

In response, Melania Trump threatened legal action against the creator of the video, stating that the claims were false and defamatory. The video was subsequently removed, and the creator issued an apology.

Autism is a Personal Matter

It’s important to approach such personal matters with sensitivity and respect for privacy, especially when it involves minors, even minors of famous people.

Public figures, including their children, are often subjected to unwarranted scrutiny, which can lead to the spread of misinformation that refuses to go away.
