I Just Want To Be Liked

You know how they say that when you get older, you stop caring what people think of you? I have heard that too. Well, I’m older but I’m apparently not one of those people. ๐Ÿ˜ I do feel more confident, the older I get. But, yeah, I still care. What can I say? I just really like to be liked. I always have.

They Like Me

So when I had this silly inconsquential moment during after-care at work, I had to laugh at myself. Well, I laughed at myself in between the internal squeals of “they like me, they really like me!”

Two of my coworkers who are younger than me. (one just turned 25….) were talking about the cameras in the classrooms. Now I think it’s really good that the admins are monitoring the classes. But it also makes me squeamish to know I’m being watched. I mean, if I adjust my underwear, I don’t want my boss to watch it. ๐Ÿคช That’s what I care about. I’m not worried that they will catch me doing something “wrong.”

Anyway, when one of them was talking about when they think that they watch, etc; he looked at the other co-worker and said “Emily is part of the gang now, I had to let her know.”

And the high-school girl within was so excited to hear that I was part of the gang. haha.

Teenager Within

Here I am, almost 50 (I can’t believe I said that out loud!). But when this 25 year old kid who could actually be my kid said this to another coworker who is dreading turning 31; I was just so happy to be included. ha.

This Is Me

Itโ€™s important to be self confident and know your worth. However, I think itโ€™s ok to care just a little about other peopleโ€™s opinionsโ€ฆ I hope so, anyway! Ha.

These two are probably my favorite coworkers. Honestly, I relate to them better than I do to my coworkers who are closer to my age. Not sure if that means Iโ€™m immature or young at heart. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜€

This was weeks ago and I’m still really happy to be part of the gang. ๐Ÿ˜

All the cool kids do the peace sign! (Apparently)
