It Was A Chinese Christmas

This was a quiet Christmas. We had a death in the family and no one was feeling particularly festive. I focused on making sure the kids enjoyed the day and they did. So it was a success. Brian and I were ready to cook dinner. I was tired so I wasn’t really looking forward to it. But, I was gonna soldier on.

Then Brian had a brilliant idea. It may have been a joke, initially, not sure. But he said “Maybe we should get Chinese” and I was intrigued.

Brian doesn’t even love Chinese and neither do I. But, still this suddenly sounded like a great idea.

Time For Dinner!

Next thing I know, we are heading to China Buffet. That’s when I found out that Brian thought we were going to get take-out but he rolled with it. So maybe I should say, next thing he knew! Anyway, it was awesome.

The price wasn’t so awesome since they raised the price for the day. But, supply and demand and all. I didn’t complain because there were so many options that even a picky girl like me could find something to eat.

Kaleb, who loves Chinese, enjoyed giving me advice. Lizzie got to try Sushi. William tried Crab.

And Antwan who had been napping and did not ever really wake up; took advantage of the American section.

Chinese pizza!

It was such a nice meal. The service was great and the food was yummy. There was no pressure; we just enjoyed each other’s company.

I wouldn’t hate it if this became a tradition. But, I will have to make sure to put money aside because dang, holiday rate buffets for six are not cheap!
