Week Recap! Convention Bound

Welcome to my week’s recap and coffee share hosted by Natalie the Explorer

This was actually a pretty lousy week. I don’t know, maybe mercury was in retrograde or something. I don’t really understand what that means but I know people say it a lot.

My daughter ran down my car battery. My job got mad at me for not wanting to drive in the blinding rain. And a guy road raged on me while trying to navigate traffic on a bridge, scary.

But the week is over! So never mind all that!

I intend to live in the moment as much as possible this weekend.. And today, one of those moments is helping out at Candy Keane’s table at EnchantmentCon! I’m very proud that I have made several sales while she is off doing a panel. Or more specifically, I have successfully completed the transactions!

It’s been fun to put on a costume and forget anout reality for awhile. Today, I’m a generic goth fairy and tomorrow, I’m going to be Olaf! You know, if Olaf was a middle-aged woman. 😉

Well, that’s about it! I hope everyone had a good week. But, before you go, look at our first ever successful sunflower! 😁

  1. Hi Emily,
I don’t think we’ve met but I found this post on Natalie’s coffee share and between your essay here and several of the pages I found on your site just had me smiling.
We recently moved our last kiddo out to begin her graduate work on the other side of the country – so our nest has gotten pretty shallow.
We got to know something of your world when they were still teens and some of their best friends were members of a family that sounds a lot like yours. Two parents with 4 foster kids from around the globe who quickly became such close friends that we took to calling them all semi-siblings. But they grew up and covid happened so they’ve all mostly gone their own ways but I still miss them – all of them now.
I’ve started a hobby of creating fun stories to read, because after needing to earn enough to keep roof and frig in-tact, I wanted to be a writer. If you like fun, and often rowdy stories of real life, you might like to wander around my “I Recall” collection. It too might sound like your family and, no doubt, some of their friends. Parent to parent – these stories sound like what your home must still feel like. Here’s one to test read if interested.

Good to meet you. I hope we cross paths again. We all need a touch of rowdy to stay healthy.
